The menu

Pies all day, breakfast until half eleven, and something sweet with your brew. Everything is made here, so the board moves with the seasons and with whatever the kitchen fancies.

Good to know

Before you come

Is there always something for vegetarians and vegans?

Yes. There is a vegetarian pie and a vegan pie on the counter every day, made with their own pastry and their own gravy — not an afterthought, and not the last thing left at three o’clock.

Can I take pies home to bake myself?

You can. Ask at the counter for them uncooked and we will box them with baking instructions. Give us a day’s notice for more than four.

Do you do gluten-free?

Our pastry is made with wheat flour and the kitchen is small, so we cannot promise a pie that is safe for coeliacs. We can serve any filling with mash and gravy instead, and the soup is usually gluten-free — ask us and we will check the day’s batch with you.

Can I book a table?

Most of the café is kept for people walking in, but we will happily hold a table for four or more. Send us a message with the day and time and we will confirm it.

Do you deliver?

Not day to day, but we do drop off catering orders across Leeds. See pies for your event for how that works.

Come and have one while it’s hot

We are open seven days. Walk in, or ring ahead and we will have yours bagged and waiting.
